Imagine this: You are on sitting on the dock, feet hanging over the side, and a fishing pole in your hand. You are talking to your best friend, drinking a coke, when there is a quick jerk on your fishing pole. You start reeling as fast as you can, and after a minute or two the fish finally emerges from the water hanging from your lure on the end of the line. What an adrenaline rush.
Fishing is one of the most popular and relaxing ways for one to spend their leisure time. It is also one of the best ways to bond with family and friends. I’ll never forget the first time my dad took me fishing, it is one the best memories of my childhood.
Fishing like many other sports and hobbies requires costly equipment. A boat can cost as much as a new car. Fishing poles can cost anywhere from $20-$200. Don’t forget about other equipment such as fishing line, weights, a tackle box, and most importantly a vast variety of fishing lures.
Lures are the main factor that decides whether or not you catch a fish. Different fish are attracted to certain types and colors of lures, at certain times of the year. So to be prepared for all these circumstances a fisherman must have an extensive assortment of fishing lures.
Instead of buying fishing lures some fisherman choose to make their own.

If You Have Never Used A Blacklight While Night Fishing, You're Missing Out!
We all know the benefits of night fishing - bigger catches and calmer waters are just two, however, night fishermen have several challenges that "day time" fishermen do not have to deal with.
Note: Not only is a blacklight nice to have, as you will soon see, but the "Evening Secret" is a device that will take fishing to a new level all together. (www.eveningsecretfishing.com/specialsecret/blacklight.php)
One of the most difficult challenges is, of course, being able to see your line to find out if you have had a hit. Here is one way of easily being able to watch your line at night.
Use a blacklight and a fluorescent fishing line.
When fishing at night, it may be a few seconds before you know you have one on the line. By this time, the fish could already be under your boat or have begun it's mad dash to the opposite shoreline.

You will mainly find trout in rivers rather than lakes but that is not to say you will not find them in lakes at all, its just that given a choice they would prefer the flowing water of a river. The main types of trout found are brown, cutthroat, brook and my favourite the rainbow.
Catching a small trout is not that hard to do its catching the big ones where the challenge comes in.
Some people prefer fly fishing as a way of catching these fish, others say using a float is best but in the end its what is best for you. Spinners are also known to work for some so just see what works for you. Some of the flies that are on the market do not seem to resemble any fly or insect at all. This is because to a fish it is not the imitation of a fly that matters it is more just a case of food recognition.

If you are considering taking up fly fishing as a hobby then two of the reasons probably include enjoying the beauty of nature and breathing in the beautiful fresh air. Fly fishing is one of the sports where you can truly enjoy the nature around you and experience the calming effect of the water.
There is no speed involved with things flying by you too fast to notice, there is no rush to go anywhere, and there are no guarantees that you will catch any fish.

Fishing gear. That's a pretty general term, huh? The term fishing gear could encompass almost anything, seeing as how there are literally millions of different types of fishing gear. In this article, I'm going to discuss some of the most important types of fishing gear that the average anglers should be using. Some will fall into the tackle category, some in the equipment category, and some simply in the efficiency category. Let's all keep in mind what Steven Wright Said of us anglers, "There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot." Many times I feel as if Mr. Wright hit the nail on the head with that quote.
